| A cool walk in the woods |
California is facing
the worst drought in 20 years. A typically cold and wet January precludes hikes in the mountains, but such is not the case this year. Record high temperatures prompted me to strap on the boots and spend half a day on the dry trails. It was a pleasant outing, but let's hope the weather turns.
[Update - 1/17:
California Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday declared a drought emergency for the state, saying it is facing perhaps "the worst drought that California has ever seen since records (began) about 100 years ago."]
