A Good Place

Window Box Cafe looks different from Denny's and IHOP.
American tourists used to--and in many places still do--travel where meals, hotels, and experiences can be purchased at a substantial discount from back home. Bay Area residents don't have to go abroad; they just have to drive East for two hours.

The Window Box Cafe in Rocklin, 25 miles northeast of Sacramento, serves a substantial, quality breakfast in a cheerful atmosphere. Including beverage and tip, the tab was about $10 per person.

Because of the State's high regulatory and tax burden, it's doubtful that we will retire in California. If we do, however, the greater Sacramento area looks like a good place.
