On the Friday Before Christmas

No reservations necessary
On the Friday before Christmas
And all through the gym
Not a creature was working
To look fit and trim

Those who had friends
Or family to see
Long ago had skipped town
Except for poor me.

I still had cards to write
And gifts to shop for
And FedEx was late
Delivering to my door

I have Holiday stress
But for me do not weep
When Christmas arrives
I'll catch up on my sleep.
