San Francisco Walgreens: an Unusual Sight

Walgreens on Ocean Ave.
Shoplifting at Walgreens has reached epidemic levels in San Francisco.

A recent video of a man filling a garbage bag while riding a bicycle through the store has gone viral. (He was captured Wednesday.)

Last October we noted how Walgreens had shuttered seven stores in San Francisco. The total is now 17.

This week, while strolling along Ocean Avenue in SF, I came across an unusual sight: an operating Walgreens without broken windows and a neat, undamaged interior.

There wasn't a security guard in sight, not that he would have done much good.

I snapped a couple of pictures to chronicle the existence of a San Francisco Walgreens before it went the way of the dodo bird.
